The Blackberry Storm 3 is coming. How do we know? A super-fuzzy slide from an internal RIM meeting has popped up online. Through carefully crossing our eyes we’ve been able to make out the specs and it seems like the Blackberry Storm 2 is getting a gentle tickle to get it up to speed for the Blackberry 6 OS. Click through to discover what the Blackberry Storm 3 promises behind the blur…
The headline bulletpoint for the Blackberry Storm 3 slide is the inclusion of the Blackberry 6 OS. It’ll double the RAM found in the Blackberry Storm 2, jumping to 512MB, and kick the camera up to an iPhone 4-matching 5MP. We’re also promised 802.11n Wi-Fi, a standard that made its debut in the Blackberry Pearl 3G.
Near the bottom of the slide, just before someone’s head blocks the details, MiFi-style 3G mobile hotspot skills are shown as coming soon for the Blackberry Storm 3. That’s a good move as Android 2.2 Froyo is currently spreading those smarts to Android phones.
We’re not sure when the Blackberry Storm 3 will drop exactly, that pesky head blocks the point on the slide showing the release date. However, it does leave enough of the line visible to show “-ember”. September seems a little soon, so that’s most probably means an October or November release date.
Let us know: what do you make of the Blackberry Storm 3 specs? Could they tempt you to snap up a new touchscreen Blackberry?
