The Logitech Z506 surround sound speaker system might not exactly be a looker but we’re intrigued by the promise that it’ll allow you to hook up two gadgets at once. Logitech is pimping out the budget 5.1 surround sound set up as perfect for your PC, PS3 or Xbox 360 and eager for you to hook up to your iPod and DVD player too. But what else is lurking inside should the Logitech Z506 land in your living room?

For £79.99, the Logitech Z506 surround sound speakers give you 75W of power with a down-firing subwoofer. If you’re not keen on disturbing the neighbours with late-night rumbling, there’s a headphone jack to keep the noise to yourself.

Along with the ability to hook up two devices simultaneously, the Logitech Z506 surround sound speakers come with colour coded cables so you shouldn’t end up in a tangle getting them set up. It’ll also connect to a consoles with an RCA cable and can be plugged directly into a PC soundcard. MP3 players are served by a 3.5mm jack.

There’s the promise of 3D stereo surround sound with the Logitech Z506 speakers converting two-channel stereo into a fully fledged sonic onslaught. However, at that pocket-friendly price, we can’t guarantee just how good the experience might be.

If you’re after some bargain surround sound kit, the Logitech Z506 speakers are out next month. Let us know whether you like the sound of them or share your current living room set up in the comments.
