The PS3 Slim has had a paint job. Sadly, the new PS3 Slim clad in “Classic White” is only headed for Japan. However, a new 320GB PS3 Slim dressed in its more familiar charcoal grey suit has also slipped out and there’s a pretty good chance it will be headed our way…

The arrival of the PS3 Slim White in Japan coincides with Sony ditching the 120GB and 250GB models in its homeland. It’ll now only offer 160GB and 320GB models for the hometown faithful. They’re set to arrive on July 29 with the PS3 Slim White only packing the 160GB hard drive.

Sony hasn’t let on whether it’ll offer the PS3 Slim White elsewhere in the world but we’d be surprised if we saw the pale Playstation hit the UK. However, new PS3 models were detailed in documents leaked just before E3 which suggested they were headed to the US. If the Americans get a bump in hard drive size, so will we.

Currently, the PS3 Slim is available in the UK with either 120GB or 250GB drive but it’s not a giant leap to suggest that the Playstation Move bundles could usher in more capacious models.

Sadly though, we’re likely to pay a bigger premium for them if they do arrive. The PS3 Slim 320GB will set you back 34,980 Yen (£262) in Japan. The current PS3 Slim 120GB already goes for £250 in the UK. You can find out what you get for you money with our PS3 Slim review.

Let us know: would you grab a PS3 Slim white if Sony decided to offer it in the UK? And are you angling for a PS3 with a heftier hard drive?

To be fair i'd probably buy one in an instant if they offered the classic white version that has been released in Japan & Asian markets.
