Microsoft said yesterday that the new Xbox 360 slim was shipping right now, and would be on shop shelves this week. We’ve got some bad news though: that’s not the case in the UK and Europe, where we’ll be waiting another month for the privilege of an Xbox with Wi-Fi actually built in. Xbox 360 slim official: Out this week!

UPDATE: Ah. It turns out that when Microsoft says the Xbox 360 slim is going on sale this week to an international audience in a keynote being broadcast live across the world, it actually means that’s only the case in the US. Microsoft UK has just confirmed that it goes on sale on 16 July in the UK, priced £199. Set your schedule back a month, folks!

The Xbox 360 slim we heard rumours about is official. It’s got Wi-Fi, a bigger hard drive, a smaller shell, and yes, it’s out this week.

Kinect Sports, one of the launch games for Xbox 360 motion control add on Microsoft Kinect, has been shown off in public for the first time at E3. Developed by Rare studios (Legendary developer of GoldenEye and Banjo-Kazooie for the Nintendo N64), it’s eerily similar to Wii Sports, right down to a boxing mini game, using your avatar.
