Despite the shonky signal, and minor teething problems with iOS4, Apple’s iPhone 4 sold 1.7million units between Thursday and Saturday, making it Apple’s most successful product launch ever.
That’s more than the 3GS sold in a full week, and adds up to an enormous 6.6 iPhone 4‘s per second. It seems to have come as a surprise to the stores as well – we were informed that there was more than enough stock for everyone. Jobs said: “this is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history,” and apologised for running out.
Apple has not said whether this includes onine pre-orders, and there’s still no word on the signal update.
