iPhone 4 has landed, and hundreds of gadget lovers the world over have been lining the streets to get their hands on it. But not before Electricpig. We joined the queues with fellow iPhone fans and tech lovers ready to show some love to Apple’s latest baby, including the UK’s very first iPhone 4 owner.
We hit London’s Regent Street Apple store, dishing out as many iTunes vouchers and T-shirts as we could muster to the first in line. Among those wearing our especially made T-Shirts like badges of tech honour is Alex Lee – the UK’s first iPhone 4 owner, along with a few more Apple fans who’ve taken time out to get first dibs on Apple’s latest handset before anyone else.
Remember Alex Lee? We met up with him yesterday. He jetted from Dubai especially for the Regent Street launch. He was top of the queue and eager for his first taste of iPhone 4 sugar. He’s a regular at Apple events. Now he finally has it he said he’s particularly looking forward to using the iPhone 4′s Facetime feature.
Some have taken time off work to get here. Andrew Milne, who’s been waiting in line since 5am even has permission from his boss. “I arrived here at 5am and managed to get time off work to be here.”
“I’m getting the 16GB iPhone 4. I imagine my friends will call me a geek but i want the iPhone 4.” He said. “My first call will be to work to tell them I’m going to be late”
Seb Young is getting the 32GB iPhone 4. “My friends think it’s a bit mad to queue” he told us. Luckily he didn’t have to wait too long. “The Apple guys pulled me ahead because I’m upgrading.” And he’ll do it all over again. “I’m definitely getting the iPhone 5.”
