If you’ve ridden Red Dead Redemption as far as it’ll go, some good news has arrived on the stagecoach – the first Red Dead Redemption DLC has moseyed into town and is free to download from Xbox Live and the Playstation Network right now. The Red Dead Redemption DLC: Outlaws To The End co-op  mission pack adds a fistful of new challenges and we’ve rounded up all the details for you…

The first and crucially free Red Dead Redemption DLC gives you six extra co-op missions  for between two and four players to be getting on with. They include Walton’s Gold (invading a mine and snatching the look before the place explodes), The River (riding a raft while battling rebels), Ammunition (taking on the Mexican army) and a newly announced map called The Kidnapped Girl.

In the latest Red Dead Redemption DLC co-op mission to be detailed by Rockstar, you and your posse have to tackle a gang that has taken over a fort and is holding a farmer’s daughter hostage. You’ll storm the fort, take out the gang and fend of enemy reinforcements while your rescue the girl. John Wayne-tastic!

We’re promised two further Red Dead Redemption DLC packs this year but unlike Red Dead Redemption: Outlaws To The End, they won’t be free so saddle up for this one while you can.

If you’ve not tackled Red Dead Redemption’s multiplayer missions yet, find out what you’re in for with our extensive Read Dead Redemption multiplayer review.

Let us know what you think of the free Red Dead Redemption DLC. Does it make a fitting addition to the main game? Or have Rockstar been lazy varmits this time?
