The Microsoft Kinect price was notably absent during the Cirque Du Soleil-stuffed razzmatazz of Microsoft’s E3 events. But while Microsoft Germany’s Oliver Kaltner said last week that the Kinect UK price will pop up at Gamescom in August, the American price has now hit the US Microsoft Store. So what do the first official Microsoft Kinect price details mean for us Brits?

Without so much as a press release or a teasing tweet, the Microsoft Kinect price has been plastered onto the US Microsoft Store at $149. It’s the same price we’ve previously seen slapped on a preorder page from US retailer Gamestop. We used the figure to extrapolate our Kinect UK price prediction.

If Microsoft simply converted the US Kinect price to pounds, we’d pay around £102 for the motion-sensing marvel but, as our previous calculations pointed out, British gamers are likely to have an extra slice of charges slapped on top.

We’re still not one hundred percent sure that the Microsoft Kinect price is finalised but the figure has been up on the Microsoft Store for a few hours.

Sony’s Playstation Move package has already been priced up with a controller and camera costing £49.99 but adding the Playstation Move sub-controller will push the cost up to £75. Since Microsoft Kinect can detect up to four players, it looks like the price battle between the two will be fairly evenly matched.

Let us know how much cash you’re willing to splash on Kinect over at our Kinect UK price debate.
