iOS 4, Apple’s latest update for iPhone and iPod touch, is now out in the wild, complete with goodies like iBooks and multitasking – albeit with quite a few caveats right now. Now you’ve got and running on your own device, it’s time to tell us: is it everything you hoped for? Vote in our poll, now!
We’ve been testing out iOS 4 on a third gen 64GB iPod touch since last night, and at the very least we’re impressed by the potential of multitasking on it – even if most of the apps and games we use most haven’t been updated to take advantage of it. Folders work a treat too, smartly figuring out categories of apps you bunch together and naming them for you.
But if you’ve got an older iPod touch or iPhone 3G, you’ll have been left out of the party on the all important multitasking and fast app switching- even though jailbroken iPhone 3G models are perfectly capable of these tasks. iPhone 3GS owners meanwhile might still be miffed that the poor notification system on iOS 4 (and iPhone OS in general) isn’t as modern and effective as that of webOS or Android.
Whatever your take on iOS 4, on whatever device you’re running, now’s the time to tell us. Vote in the poll, then jot your in depth thoughts down in the comments below – we’ll be back with the results shortly.
