PlayStation Move dated for the UK!

UPDATE: Apparently, the UK isn’t in Europe according to Sony. We’ve just had word from the company that the PlayStation Move goes on sale on 17 September, two days later than those across the Channel.

Sony’s just announced PlayStation Move launch dates – and unlike Microsoft’s unhelpful bait and switch for the release of the new Xbox 360 – they’re global. Want to know when it hits? Read on and we’ll tell you – we’ve got all the bundle details too!

Sony fully unveiled its PlayStation Move motion control wand for the PS3 back in March, but it’s just announced the launch date at long last. In the UK and Europe, the PlayStation Move goes on sale on 15 September, 19 September in the US and on 21 October in Japan. That early run gives it a full two month head start on Microsoft’s Kinect kit for Xbox 360, seen as a close rival, though it only uses a camera, rather than a remote in combination with one.

Sony also announced pricing for the PlayStation Move, in dollars at least. A PlayStation Move wand by itself will sell for $49.99 (£33.75), but you’ll need an Eye Toy camera already. Sony’s also selling a bundle with the PlayStation Move wand, the camera and the Sports Champions game for $99.99 (£65), while the add on navigation wan will be sold separately for $29.99 (£20).

We’re chasing the actual UK translations of the PlayStation Move prices, so stay tuned.
