We got a lot of details on the Nintendo 3DS from the company’s E3 keynote just now, but the full, gory details are now public, and we’ve got all of them right here along with official snaps of the new handheld up close. Read on!
A Nintendo 3DS spec sheet has now been published over on Nintendo’s official site. As we heard, the top screen is a 3.5-inch panel capable of 3D without glasses, and a 800×250 resolution (In reality this will appear as 400×240 for each eye in 3D).
The lower Nintendo 3DS screen is a 3.02 inch panel with a QVGA resolution (No change there then), and there are in fact three cameras on it. One is on the inside, while two 0.3 megapixel sensors on the outside act in tandem to take 3D photos.
The Nintendo 3DS game cards will max out at 2GB capacity at launch, and the handheld can connect over Wi-Fi. The game card slot will also accept DS carts, and there’s also an SD card slot and an audio jack to use your own headphones.
We’re still chasing to find out if an exact release date for the Nintendo 3DS is known – stay tuned for that and Sony’s E3 keynote in a just a few minutes.
