The iPhone 4 is rapidly turning into the village bike, with five networks getting a ride on Apple’s latest smartphone. There could be another to add to that list shortly soon too: Virgin Media has confirmed to us that it is “in talks with Apple” to bring the iPhone 4 to its virtual shelves.

We’ve contacted two of the leading mobile virtual network operators in the UK, Tesco and Virgin Media, to see if they too will stock the iPhone 4, now that O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange and Three are all confirmed partners for launch. Tesco wouldn’t comment, but a Virgin Media spokesperson told us that “Virgin Media are in talks with Apple”, but that it “cannot confirm either way” yet.

iPhone 4 UK price: How much are you willing to pay?

That’s potentially promising news for current Virgin Media customers, especially since Tesco, an MVNO on O2′s network, was the only operator to sell the iPhone 3GS with a radically different pricing scheme. If Virgin Media gets the green light, we’re hopeful it might be able to do likewise with the iPhone 4 on Virgin Mobile.

We’ll be back with more news on iPhone 4 stockists as soon as we get it.
