UPDATE: Motorola Milestone XT720 network partners aren’t being announced today, but one of the demo units we’ve been shown is branded with T-Mobile’s logo. Read into that what you will!

The Motorola Milestone XT720 has just been unveiled at a press briefing in London this morning. It’s the 10.9mm thin Android Motorola Motoroi we peeped back at Mobile World Congress in February, and it’s UK bound. Story developing, stay tuned for updates.

Unlike the original Motorola Milestone, the Motorola Milestone XT720 is a touchscreen only smartphone, with some seriously souped up specs. The Motorola Milestone XT720 packs in a 3.7-inch screen, eight megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording and armed with a xenon flash. There’s also a HDMI port to play back your videos on a flatscreen telly – an unusual feature for a phone. It also uses Motorola’s Crystal Talk technology, which should mean great sound quality on phone calls.

Other hardware inside the Motorola Milestone XT720 includes a 3.5mm audio port for your own headphones, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and a micro SD slot.

The Motorola Milestone XT720 runs stock Android 2.1 – not 2.2 sadly – rather than a Motoblur skin as seen on some lower end Motorola Android phones. Motorola’s marketing director Tom Setchwell says that an upgrade is “technically…possible, but we have to work with operator partners…about how those updates get rolled out.” In other words, you might not be seeing Flash support on the Motorola Milestone XT720 for some time.
