Orbitsound debuts new iPod-friendly audio gear

Brit firm Orbitsound has just unveiled a triple whammy of audio kit: the Orbitsound T12 v2 soundbar, the Orbitsound T4 Radiopod and the Orbitsound T3 portable speaker, all of which are designed to work with the iPod and iPhone. Read on for the lowdown on each of them.

First up, there’s the Orbitsound T12 v2 soundbar, designed to be mounted above or below a flatscreen HDTV. It delivers spatial stereo that should blow pretty much any telly’s built-in speakers out of the water, comes finished in strokeably shiny black lacquer and can be twinned with a subwoofer for even more powerful sonic performance. Oh, and there’s a dock for iPods and iPhones on top too. It’s coming to John Lewis stores this month, priced at around £300.

Second in the new range is the Orbitsound T4 Radiopod, which’ll hit shops “in the summer” priced at around £180. This is a combined iPod dock and radio with DAB, DAB+, FM and Internet radio abilities (and Wi-Fi for the latter, so you don’t need to run an Ethernet cable to your router to access all those amazing Albanian techno web radio stations). Again, there’s an iPod dock up top.

Rounding off the new trio there’s the Orbitsound T3 portable speaker, a palm-sized soundbox designed to deliver high quality stereo wherever you are: beach, barbeque or beyond. It can be linked up to any stereo source including iPods, laptops and handheld games consoles, and its battery serves up about 10 hours of use per charge. The T3 portable speaker is available this month, priced at around £50.
