The BBC is opening up the iPlayer. The new version, live today, already offers a ton of enhancements to make finding shows easier, but a further expansion is planned: adding links to rival broadcaster’s TV programmes directly within the iPlayer interface.

The app which features the June edition of US Wired will set you back less than the UK print edition but you’ll need to give up a hefty chunk of space on your iPad – it’s a 526MB download.
