Heads up Apple fans! There was no mention of a BBC iPlayer iPad app at today’s preview of the all new iPlayer, but we hear Auntie’s prepping a specific iPad-friendly version of its on-demand TV site in time for this Friday’s iPad launch in the UK.

The latest iPlayer info nugget comes via the Evening Standard’s tech correspondent, Mark Prigg. He just received word from BBC technology chief Erik Huggers himself. Would-be iPad owners, rejoice!
