Sure, people started queueing for the iPad outside Apple‘s flagship Regent Street store in London yesterday. And sure, Apple flung the doors open an hour early this morning at 8am to let the tablet seeking throngs in. But guess what? Hundreds more are still waiting in line, more than ten hours after the store started trading for the day.
We dropped by the store shortly before 6pm, only to find hundreds of people still queueing for the iPad, and hefty security ensuring the pavement was kept clear for the people who had places to be. It looks like the shop has yet to run out of stock, and the chancers at the back of the line will have their fingers crossed that the situation stays the same, and until they get inside, before it closes at 9pm.

Of course, Apple’s stores aren’t the only shops selling the iPad, so let us know if you’ve had any luck at Currys or PC World today, where the queues are likely to have been less frantic – but supply not quite so high.
