Yesterday we swung by London’s Regent Street Apple store to give the UK’s earliest queuers their first taste of the iPad. Since then, hundreds more Brits have lined up to get their hands on Apple’s tablet.

Just ten minutes before Apple flings open its doors to unleash the iPad on Britain, we counted a whopping 445 people lining up to grab one.

And those fanboys and girls aren’t just from the UK. Alex Groen flew to the UK from the Netherlands and explained “I just came on holiday, I wanted to see [the iPad] live. I can’t believe the size of the queue, but hopefully the line will go fast.

“I’m plannning to use it for internet, reading and everything that’s possible, really. I’ll be buying the 64GB 3G iPad.”

Sharing queue space with Alex are everyday gadget fans enjoying the carnival atmosphere of the queue, as well as one very special man and woman: They’re the world’s tallest married couple, apparently. And who are we to argue, when the bride has come wearing her wedding dress? Apple fans are nothing if not varied…
