iPad Kindle appThe iPad Kindle app has been available in the UK iTunes Store since April 7 but Amazon has now announced that you can actually grab UK titles through it. That’s good news for new iPad owners looking for an option other than iBooks. Read on for officials details on the iPad Kindle app…

Amazon is offering up 375,000 titles through the iPad Kindle app right now including new releases and some big besellers including Stieg Larson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantell.

Unlike iBooks and the Kindle Blackberry and forthcoming Kindle Android apps, you can’t buy ebooks directly from the iPad Kindle app. Instead you’ll be taken across to the Amazon website in Safari to snap up your selection.

If you’re already packing the Kindle iPhone app, Kindle for Mac, Kindle for PC or Jobs forbid, a fully fledged Kindle, the iPad Kindle app uses the same Whispersync technology so you’ll keep your place wherever you start reading again.

Grab the free Kindle iPad app now and let us know how you think it compares to iBooks. And make sure you take a gander at our iPad reading accessories guide.

Received Kindle on 10 September. I am most impressed, very easy to read. Mine came with three books ordered . I did have problems with one ordered after receipt but problem resolved by very helpful courteous Amazon help. It will save so much weight when traveling just think all the books you need in such a small device. Wonderful and I am 891 years old!
