Good Tuesday to you! Woken up devoid of all gadget know-how? Fear not, we’ve got a quick run-down of the most important stories in tech, right here! Grab the news spoon, it’s time for your Techie Breakie!
Gamers, get set for some mouthwatering shoot-em-up action: Halo Reach finally has a release date. The next instalment of Halo has long been pencilled in to ship in September but now with added military precision we know the exact day it’ll be deployed: September 14, unless you’re in Japan, in which case you’ll have to wait an extra day to play it.
A little closer on our gadget timeline is the iPad UK launch. It’ll hit stores this Friday, and not just Apple stores. A memo leaked to the Times from inside Curry’s, Dixons Travel and PC World owner DSGi claims its stores will have a 60-day exclusive window to sell the iPad.
Don’t fancy queueing up with the white earbud brigade outside your local Mac shrine? Then you should be able to p-p-pick up an iPad at your local shopping mall too. Be warned though, the memo predicts massive demand, so get there early.
Sticking with Apple, head honcho Steve Jobs has confirmed his attendance at WWDC next month, announcing he’ll present the keynote address which is widely expected to herald the arrival of iPhone 4.0. The black polo-necked one will be pacing the stage at the Moscone West Center in San Francisco from 10am on June 7 (6pm British time). As always, we’ll have updates on Electricpig as soon as the iPhone (or whatever else Steve is keeping up his sleeve) is revealed.
