A new Macbook appears to have popped up on the same Vietnamese site that brought us an iPhone 4.0 leak last week. While predictions of a new Macbook Air turned out to be wishful thinking, those details may actually have referred to this new Macbook. Apple like to sling out this kind of update on Tuesdays. Will tomorrow deliver a new white plastic present?

The new Macbook revealed by Tinhte, the Vietnamese gadget forum which seems to have found a source at a remarkably leaky Apple supplier, appears outwardly identical to the current model. The familiar white plastic unibody is still there as is the 13.3in LED-backlit display.

It’s the guts of the new Macbook that have been changed with a 2.4GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo and an NVIDIA GeForce 320 GPU inside. Those changes would put the new Macbook on a par with the refreshed 13in Macbook Pro. The 250GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM is unchanged and the leaked box shows an unchanged 7 hour battery life.

If the Tinhte leak is the real new Macbook, it would mean we’re looking at a very minor update but we’re definitely due one. The Macbook was last refreshed in October 2009 but we’d be slightly disappointed to see the junior laptop in Apple’s lineup get such a small tweak.

There are plenty of rumours emerging from Apple resellers that the new Macbook will drop tomorrow. If it does, will you be tempted to pick one up?
