The Garmin Nuvi 295W is one of a new breed of satnavs packing smartphone features. This newly announced PND has one feature though that’s still a bit surprising: it’s sporting a three megapixel camera inside, for geotagged shots. Would you use one?
The Garmin Nuvi 295W is a perfectly respectable stand alone satnav, with a 3.8-inch touchscreen and MP3 playback in a thin shell. But the Garmin Nuvi 295W also boasts a 3MP camera that tags where each shot was taken, and Wi-Fi for browsing the web and checking email in hotspots.
Garmin Nuvi 3790T: the multitouch satnav
Why the Garmin Nuvi 295W boasts these extra specs we’re not sure: we’d much prefer a multitouch screen, or one of Garmin’s Android phones made in collaboration with Asus. Still though, if you find yourself going on a lot of roadtrips with a dumbphone and no digital camera, the Garmin Nuvi 295W can be yours in a few weeks, according to the company’s official blog.
