Alan Wake is out tomorrow and we’ve got more news on the free Alan Wake DLC which is due later this year. The developer Remedy has spilled more details on what the Alan Wake DLC will add to the tale and when we’ll see it…
We already knew that the first batch of Alan Wake DLC would be free to anyone who picks up the game but we now know it’ll arrive on July 28 and that it won’t tell a brand new story.
Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen told CVG that the Alan Wake DLC will “give you a different perspective on the things that you’ve done in season one and then set you up for the possible things you’re going to do in season two.”
Alan Wake 2 is already written and Hakkinen confirmed that the first instalment of Alan Wake will offer up a satisfying ending: “Season one – just to be clear – is a full package and you’ll unravel the mystery and reach all your goals.”
All this talk of the Alan Wake DLC providing a “different perspective” reminds us the Heavy Rain DLC which puts you in the shoes of the Origami Killer.
As well as the Alan Wake DLC arriving in July, we’re promised a second batch later in the year. Stay tuned for our Alan Wake review which is also out tomorrow.
