Election day is finally here and if you’ve decided who to vote for but don’t know how to get to your polling station, we’re here to help. You’ll find the address of your polling station printed on your polling card but if you haven’t got a clue how to get there, here’s five apps that will help…

Ovi Maps
Download Ovi Maps and it’ll turn your Symbian-sporting, GPS-packing Nokia phone into a personal guide to help you find your polling station. Ovi Maps works even when you haven’t got 3G signal so you won’t end up lost if your polling station is in a decidedly rural spot.

Google Maps
Google Maps works on pretty much any phone with a web browser. Just enter the address of your polling station and it’ll offer up a route. Google Maps is free to use and you don’t need to download anything, perfect if you’re stuck at work and planning to head to your polling station in your lunch hour.

Google Maps Navigation

If you’re packing a Google Android phone, you can go one better with Google Maps Navigation. Download the free app and it’ll give you turn-by-turn navigation and even let you just say the name of your polling station to search for it. Best of all, when you’re nearing your polling station, Google Maps Navigation will switch to Google Streetview making it even easier to spot where you should be headed for.

Google Latitude
Fire up Google Latitude – which works on Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Symbian phones – and you’ll be able to see whether your friends who are also using the service are headed towards your polling station. If they are, you could give them a call and indulge in a cheeky polling day pint.

Foursquare
Like Google Latitude, Foursquare won’t actually help you find your polling station but it will show which of your friends have been checking in to vote whether they’re headed to your polling station or not. Sadly, Foursquare hasn’t created a badge rewarding you for voting yet. You can grab the Foursquare app for Blackberry, iPhone, Android and Palm and use it on other mobiles with the more basic Foursquare mobile site.
