Boxee, our favourite media hub, has just added some extra features that mean you’ll be able to pull recommendations from your friends on Twitter and Facebook straight into your media library. It’s also made some helpful tweaks to help you fix mislabelled media files in your Boxee library.
We’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Boxee Box and Boxee pay TV plans which are due this summer but in the meantime, the media streaming program keeps on evolving. You’ve been able to broadcast your Boxee watching habits out to Twitter and Facebook for a while but you can now see what your friends are digging too.
Hop into the Boxee services settings and you can now activate automatic video recommendations from your Facebook and Twitter contacts. When they share a video, it will pop up in your Boxee feed with an icon to let you know where it came from.
The latest version of Boxee also adds the ability to easily sort out incorrectly labelled files and media that the program can’t identify. If you’ve downloaded Boxee or upgraded it in the last 2 weeks, the new features should already be up and running. If not, hit the link below to grab the Boxee update.
