The Samsung S-Pad. That’s the name of the South Korean super tablet we heard was on the way to take on the iPad, according to a new report, which also lists some seriously exciting specs, and a launch date. When does the S-Pad take on the iPad? Read on to find out.

Though Samsung’s no stranger to tablets (Remember its Samsung Q1 MID line?), it’s set to have a crack at a consumer focused slate later this year with the launch of the Samsung S-Pad, Etnews reports. The report goes on to say that the Samsung S-Pad is pencilled in for an early August release, which isn’t so far off for anyone looking for a Google infused iPad alternative. Of course, Asus and MSI might also have served up their efforts by then (And let’s not forget HP and Palm), but who are we to complain about choice? More on the Samsung S-Pad as we hear it.
