The Motorola Milestone only hit the Carphone Warehouse in March but Motorola could be teeing up to announce its successor. A mysterious new device tagged the Motorola Shadow has popped up online. Could this be the next phone in Motorola’s Android arsenal?
A submission to the Wi-Fi alliance shows a device called the Motorola MB810 which is rumoured to be the often whispered about Motorola Droid/Motorola Milestone follow up, the darkly titled Motorola Shadow.
The rumoured Motorola Shadow specs look pleasing with Android 2.2 (Froyo) in the mix, a 4.3in touchscreen and an 8MP camera. There’s also support for 1080p HD video playback and 720p HD video recording.
The one big downside with the rumoured Motorola Shadow details is memory of just 512MB but hopefully Google may address that by allowing Android users to install apps from SD cards soon. We’ve been promised a major wave of Motorola Android handsets this year so hopefully this will be among them.
While an 8MP camera wouldn’t put the Motorola Shadow in competition with the Nokia N8, it’s Android smarts and those HD smarts might make it a contender. Let us know what you think of this mysterious potential Motorola Milestone successor.
