Buy either the standard or limited edition of Alan Wake and you’ll get a token card to download the first Alan Wake DLC from Xbox Live. Remedy, the game’s developers, have previously described the as-yet-untiled Alan Wake DLC as like a “Christmas special” which will act as bridge between the first two installments.
While grabbing Alan Wake will guarantee you get the Alan Wake DLC for free, there’s no definitive date for its arrival. It’s currently just due “later this year”. The makers previously revealed that they haven’t actually worked out a definitive Alan Wake ending yet but hopefully the DLC will offer up some answers.
As well as announcing the free Alan Wake DLC, a new Alan Wake trailer which you can feast your eyes on above. There’s plenty of wandering through dark woods and Alan Wake waving his torch. Incidentally, the official Alan Wake store has just opened and, you guessed it, you can buy an official Alan Wake torch there!
