Sky News HD will launch just in time for election day on May 6 with a results programme, Decision Time, kicking off the UK’s first HD news channel. Want to watch the politicians suffer in pin sharp quality pictures? Read on to find out how…
Sky News HD will show a simulcast of the current Sky News channel but with new HD graphics and an HD studio so you won’t have to peer at peeling paint. There’s no word on whether the presenters are having an HD overhaul but Electricpig editor, James Holland, is currently being upgraded for his next appearance.
Sky News HD will be broadcast on Sky Channel 517 from May 6 with Kay Burley, Jeremy Thompson, Eamonn Holmes and Dermot Murnahan all lining up to present the Decision Time election coverage.
Sky News is the last of Sky’s own channels to go HD. Sky Sports, Sky Arts, Sky Entertainment and Sky Movies all beat it to the punch in the Sky HD lineup. We’re promised additional HD goodies on Sky News HD from May 10 with HD Premium panels giving viewers extra graphics and live video feeds.
