The iPad might not be out in the UK yet, but that’s no reason not to prepare for its arrival. Keep your idle hands busy by crafting your very own case, with instructions from one handy iPad owner, who’s successfully built the best iPad case we’ve ever seen.

See, the problem with all the iPad cases we’ve seen to date is that while some offer protection, they’re short on storage. Whereas the ones packed with storage, don’t let us prop up our iPad to watch a movie. And the ones which prop the iPad up? Well, they’re short on storage.

It’s a vicious circle: as yet, we haven’t found an iPad case that does it all. Until now.

Blogger Steve Bostedor created his Custom Day-Timer iPad case by cobbling together some Scotch tape, a microfibre cleaning cloth and an old day planner. His creation not only houses the iPad safely, but the microfibre lining actually cleans the screen a little each time he slides it in and out.

And for storage, Steve even built in space to stash an Apple Bluetooth keyboard: perfect for long typing sessions. It’ll even lay the iPad down at the perfect angle for typing on a desktop.

Want to watch a movie instead of working? Steve’s iPad case lets him prop the iPad up vertically too. He really has thought of everything.
