Sad news for users of the original Xbox Live. We can’t imagine there are too many of you left, but if you’re still using an original Xbox console, today is the last day you’ll be able to access Microsoft’s online service.

Microsoft is pulling the plug on the original Xbox Live on 15 April, as it wants to make changes to the Xbox 360 version that won’t jive with the original, 8-year-old Xbox console. That means no more Halo 2 multiplayer, amongst other things.

It also means Xbox 360 owners playing original Xbox games online via their current gen console will have to stop.

It’s a shame for the Xbox Live users still making the most of the service, and as yet we don’t know exactly what changes Microsoft has planned for Xbox Live on the Xbox 360. When we do, we’ll let you know.
