Nokia E5 super cheap E72 rival lands: photos

The Nokia E5 has just been unveiled. It’s the QWERTY handset we saw leaked as the Nokia C6 a few months ago, but it’s much smarter than rumoured, running Symbian S60 and stuffing in all the connectivity you could need on the cheap.

The Nokia E5 doesn’t have the swish metallic looks of the Nokia E72, but it does pack in just about everything else. Inside the Nokia E5, you’ll find HSDPA, Wi-Fi and a-GPs for jumping online and pinning your place on the map, as well as a microSD slot and 3.5mm audio port.

The Nokia E5 has a similar 2.4-inch QVGA screen and Symbian S60 3rd edition, and sucks in all popular emailed accounts (And yes, Exchange support), but the dealbreaker for us is the cheap price. Nokia says the Nokia E5 will cost just
€180 (£160) before taxes when it hits in the late Summer or Autumn (Q3). Check out the Nokia E5 in our gallery right here in the meantime and decide if that price saving wins you over – expect this to be sold very cheaply indeed.

This is misleading – the 2 are not same even leaving aside the non-metallic implement.
E5 does not have an accelerometer/compass or a second camera for video-calls.
