A Macbook Pro update is strongly rumoured to be hitting the Apple Store tomorrow. Now new Macbook Pro product numbers have popped up in a US retailer’s database. Read on to find out what the database diving suggests we should expect about the Macbook Pro update…

American computer store, Microcenter, lists four new Apple systems in its stock-keeping unit database. The names are generic: Apple System Good-USA $1799.99, Mac System Better-USA $1999.99, Mac System #1 Best-USA $2199.99, Mac System #2 Best-USA $2299.99.

MacRumours claims a source at Microcenter has confirmed that the part numbers are real. They suggest that the Macbook Pro update will include three 15in Macbook Pro models and a 17in Macbook Pro.

The Macbook Pro update looks set to include the new Intel Core i7 and i5 chips. Recently an Intel Core i7 Macbook Pro popped up in benchmark reports and an email from Steve Jobs seemed to confirm a Macbook Pro update was on the way.

Are you holding on for the Macbook Pro update? What else should Apple add to the Macbook Pro? Let us know in the comments.

other than the new chips i think the main thing Apple needs to do is reduce the price! especially for the apple care protection plan! it is ridiculous!

I’d love it to, and really make one entry level MacBook to go with the Mac Mini. Whether it needs to financially is another matter!
