We love the BlackBerry Bold 9700. As messaging smartphones go, it’s still the go to blower for people who pound out emails on the move, even if RIM’s web browser is as useful as a bike with square wheels. It’ll soon ship in the UK in white as well as black, RIM has revealed, so if you were planning on picking up a ‘Berry and fancy standing out from the crowd, it can “soon” be yours from Carphone Warehouse and T-Mobile on a monthly contract – we’ve asked just how soon and will update when we hear back.

Of course, as pretty as the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is in white, with its lovely optical trackpad and all, it might be worth holding on a bit longer: iPhone OS 4 is just about to be announced, and RIM’s own tradeshow, the Wireless Enterprise Symposium, goes down at the end of the month. We might just see BlackBerry OS 6.0 debut there, or even the rumoured BlackBerry slider. Sit tight, and you’ll know as soon as we do.
