Is a Samsung Galaxy S Pro Android phone in the works? Rumours pointing to a version of the monster smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard have been floating around online for a few days, but they just got some serious credibility, as a second, near identical model to the Samsung Galaxy S has just been certified by the Bluetooth SIG organisation.
HDBlog. It claimed that a Samsung Galaxy S Pro Android phone with the same monster four inch Super AMOLED screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard was in the pipeline late last month. It didn’t have much proof to back it up at the time (The image above is a mock up of what a Samsung Galaxy S Pro might look like), but that might just have arrived by way of some official documents over at the Bluetooth SIG website.

The organisation, which documents use of Bluetooth filesharing tech in new gadgets, lists a Samsung i897 model with Bluetooth 3.0 that sounds suspiciously like the Samsung Galaxy S: it packs Android and a four inch AMOLED screen. But the Samsung Galaxy S has already passed through the Bluetooth SIG, with the model number i9000 – what’s this identical model?
It’s possible this is a Samsung Galaxy S model for a particular network, but it could also be the Samsung Galaxy S Pro, with an unlisted QWERTY keyboard. After all, it wouldn’t be the first Android phone to get a keyboard and the “Pro” tag slapped on the end now would it, Sony Ericsson?
We’re expecting more official details on the Samsung Galaxy S shortly, so fingers crossed word on the Samsung Galaxy S Pro comes with them.
