iPad Apps listings have hit the iTunes UK Store with UK pricing despite the fact that we’re still waking for a UK launch date and iPad UK price. Follow the next link at the bottom of the story to see the current iPad Apps list and read on for details on some of the best iPad Apps we’ve spotted and how you can start downloading iPad Apps now.
Apple has started filling the iTunes App Store with iPad Apps in advance of the US iPad launch tomorrow and though you can’t get at the iPad Apps listings in the iTunes UK store from the front page, the iTunes link below will take you to it.
We’ve been rooting around in the iPad Apps list and discovered that you can download iPad apps now. If you grab one of the dedicated iPad apps like Twitterific for iPad (one of the apps revealed in Stephen Fry’s iPad Apps list) , it’ll go into a new category in your iTunes Apps listing marked iPad Apps.
Apps you’ve already got for iPhone which have been upgraded for iPad should pop up in updates today. When you update them, they’ll be moved to a new category in your iTunes Apps listing called iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad apps – we’ve now got iPad compatible versions of productivity app Evernote and instant messenger app, IM+ resting in iTunes.
Lots of new apps added in the great iPad Apps wave also have iPhone support. One we were excited to spot is Marvel Comics Viewer. The app is free and there are 5 free comics available to download (including issues of Spiderman and Captain America). You can then buy individual issues for £1.19.
Another interesting arrival is Sam & Max Episode 1: The Penal Zone for iPad which is listed at £5.99. Sticking the game in the iTunes App Store means iPad owners will grab the latest Sam & Max adventure ahead of the PC, Mac and Playstation launch on April 15.
At the time of publishing, there are 638 iPad apps up for sale in the UK iTunes App Store. Many of the iPad apps are free and there are a lot priced at the bargain basement figure of 59p. However expect to see lots of costlier iPad apps arriving as the store expands.
