The iPad UK price is still a mystery right now, but we’ve totted up and crunched the numbers on our survey asking how much you’re willing to pay. The results on the iPad UK price poll are in, and it gives us a good idea of the sweet spot Apple needs to hit to lure UK gadget heads in. Read on for the breakdown.
We asked you how much you’d be willing to pay for the 16GB, Wi-Fi only iPad, which costs $499 without tax in the US, and while no price bracket obtained an overall majority, few said they’d buy one if the iPad UK price broke through the £400 barrier. 48 percent are demanding a bargain from Apple in order to take a gamble on a completely new type of computer and expect nothing over £350, while 43 percent would pay up to £400, which the iPad would come in under at current exchange rates plus VAT.
iPad UK price leaked by Play.com?
Just six percent would stretch as far as £450, while only three percent would pay between £450 and £500 – the amount you’ll pay to import an iPad, as well as that suggested by Play.com’s listing a few weeks ago.
The results are pretty clear then. We like what we see, but few are willing to buy the tablet should the iPad UK price comes in above that of premium netbooks. The masses have spoken, Apple: if you want us to buy in to a whole new tablet category, you’ll need a tempting iPad UK price.
