The Spotify iPhone app has had a welcome update today to add a fistful of new features including support for Last.fm, new ways to share tracks and clever iPod music scanning skills. Read on for full details on what updating the Spotify iPhone app will get you.
If you’re a Spotify Premium subscriber or are planning to make the leap, the Spotify iPhone app update has got a whole lot more appealing. One of the big features of the Spotify iPhone app is the ability to sync tracks to iPhone and the app will now scan your music and list tracks you already have to avoid duplication.
Sharing in the Spotify iPhone app is another big change. You can now share playlists and individual tracks via email or Twitter directly from the app.
Star a track you like in the Spotify iPhone app and it will be plonked in a brand new playlist dedicated to starred tracks. You can also now see which albums tracks in a playlist come from with a grid of sleeve art at the top of each playlist.
You can also rearrange playlists within the Spotify iPhone app. Following links to playlists in emails or through Safari will now automatically open the app. Last.fm scrobbling support means that track information will be sent to your profile.
While the new Spotify iPhone app update adds some welcome features and seemed to work well when we tried it, some users are reporting that the app crashes without loading. Are you struggling with the latest Spotify iPhone app update? Let us know.
