Best Buy, the America chain of electronics stores, has just announced its plans to invade the UK. Its first shop selling cut price gizmos opens next month, with more to follow, so read on for the details.
Best Buy’s UK website launched earlier this year, but now the American giant is set to give Currys and Argos a fright on the high street with the launch of its first walk in superstores here in Britain.
The very first British Best Buy will open in Thurrock, Essex, in May, with branches in Hedge End, Southampton, and Merry Hill, West Midlands, following in June. Aintree near Liverpool will get its own Best Buy shortly after that, while a branch in Croydon, Surrey, will open for business in the Autumn.
That’s great news for gadget enthusiasts here in the UK, since Best Buy sells just about every bit of kit under the sun from home audio to gaming, has Geek Squad agents on hand for support and even offers trade ins on old televisions, laptops and phones. We’ll let you know as and when we spot any Best Buy bargains, but anyone in the Essex area should start saving your pennies, now.
