UPDATE: We’ve got our grubby mits on the new Flip Mino HD. Get a good look at our photos!
The Flip Mino HD refresh that pocket camcorder lovers were blessed with stateside last year is finally gearing up for launch in the UK next month. It’s got extra storage and a sharper screen, but is it enough in a world of iPhones and smarpthones with YouTube uploading built right in?
The original Flip Mino HD is a year old now, making it positively geriatric in gadget terms, so it’s almost with relief that we see the new Flip Mino HD arrive in Britain, bringing with it 8GB of storage for two hours of high def, 720p video recording, and a larger two inch screen. The new Flip Mino HD also sports an HDMI port to plug straight into your HDTV and check out your potential YouTube virals close up.
First gen Flip Mino HD unboxed!
Of course, whether the new Flip Mino HD is a worthy addition to your pocket when super slim phones like the Sony Ericsson Vivaz now boast 720p video recording remains to be seen, and the iPhone cuts out the middle man computer entirely with integrated YouTube.
You can pre-order the new Flip Mino HD from Firebox now, with an expected shipping date of 8 April. We’ve managed to nab one early though: it’s winging its way to our door now, so stay tuned for a full Flip Mino HD unboxing and impressions shortly.
