A Nokia N8 flagship has leaked out online. It chimes almost perfectly with previous rumours and spyshots, and packs in some stonking kit, including a 12 megapixel camera and the ability to play back HD video on your telly. Read on for what we know so far.
We first spotted a mystery Nokia with a 12MP camera way back in September last year, and while we guessed it might be a Nokia N87, this new leak from Chinese site IT168 points us in a new direction: this could be the Nokia N8-00 rumours have been swirling around. Given that the also leaked Nokia C5-00 then went on to become the Nokia C5 under Nokia‘s new naming scheme, it looks likely this could wind up being called the Nokia N8.
The site reports that the Nokia N8 is a full touchscreen affair with no slide out keyboard, an external SIM card slot like the Nokia X6 and even HDMI for connecting up to your flatscreen TV. The Nokia N8 may also be the first phone to run the new look Symbian 3, the site suggests, which we know is coming this year.
Whether it’s the Nokia N8, N98 or N87, it’s high time: Nokia hasn’t announced a new flagship Symbian phone for well over a year, so we hope more details arrive soon.
