The iPad makes use of iPhoto features like Faces and Places in its photo app, so when a customer emailed Steve Jobs to ask whether it will support Google’s Picasa photo app, his answer wasn’t really a surprise. The fact that Steve Jobs will occasionally answer customers iPad queries personally? Well, that is slightly odd.

An unnamed UK Apple fan emailed Steve Jobs directly to ask: “Are there any plans to support Picasa’s faces and albums in iTunes, so I can take full advantage of the [iPad] Photos application?…If not can you look into supporting the Picasa library format?”

While his query is slightly foolish given Apple’s heavy promotion of iPhoto, its handy dandy Faces and Places functions and their place in the world of the iPad, Steve Jobs replied to him personally. As we’ve come to expect, the email was sparse and sent from his iPhone:

“No but iPhoto on the Mac has much better Faces and Places features.”

Steve Jobs has replied to emails sent by to his SJobs@apple.com email address before. In November, Steve Jobs personally replied to a letter from an aggrieved Mac developer with a similarly short missive from his iPhone. Perhaps his replies will come from his iPad in future.

Have you tried emailing Steve Jobs directly before? Did you get a reply? If you did let us know what response you got.
