An Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook with a new look, mammoth battery life and low pricetag has leaked out online, promising ultra portable computing for as little as the very first Eee PC all those years ago.
Notebook Italia reports that a Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook is set to be announced in just days, and given the official pic and Asus’ habit of leaking gadgets like a sieve, it appears the intel is solid.
The 10.1-inch Asus Eee PC 1001PX will reportedly come in two flavours: one will sport a 250GB hard drive and nine hour battery, while the other drops the disk space to 160GB and battery stamina to five hours. Both will sport 1GB of RAM and the latest Intel Atom N450 processor, it’s claimed, and come with the Seashell line curves and a mottled, carbon fibre-esque lid.
Asus Eee PC 1018P aluminium netbook official!
Yes, the Asus Eee PC 1001PX isn’t a great deal different from the souped up aluminium Eee PCs we checked out at CeBIT earlier this month, but you’ll be able to pick it up for a knock back price. The site reports that the pimped out Windows 7 version of the Asus Eee PC 1001PX will cost €300 (£270) while the Windows XP version will cost just €241 (£217), the same price as the very first Eee PC 701 which kicked off the whole netbook craze.
We’ve reached out to Asus UK to find out more about launch plans for the Asus Eee PC 1001PX, and we’ll update when we get any more information.
