The Nokia N86 was left out of the free Ovi Maps navigation update back in January, but anyone with Espoo’s top cameraphone and a car can now breathe easy: as of right now, it’s compatible, meaning you’ve got a free satnav in your pocket.
The major Ovi Maps update in January did what Google has yet to with Google Maps Navigation so far, and give free turn by turn satnavs skills to phones worldwide. But while plenty of Nseries phones got the love at launch, including the non-touchscreen Nokia E72, the eight megapixel Nokia N86 was left out in the cold. Now though, Nokia is pushing out the Ovi Maps 3.3 update to it to make amends.

Although the Nokia N86 still isn’t listed as compatible on the Ovi Maps website, users are reporting that they’re able to install it by simply clicking on the SW Update button in their Nokia N86 Applications folder.
The rollout for free Ovi Maps navigation on the Nokia N86 doesn’t appear to be universal just yet, but screenshots online clearly show some people are getting it so keep an eye out for your chance soon, and if you’re in already, let us know how it works out. Can we have the Nokia N85 next please?
