We knew the Google Nexus One was headed to Vodafone, but the network’s been reticent until now on a precise release date. But lo, a brand new button’s just popped up on the site, letting you register for updates to get first dibs on the flagship Google phone.

While there’s no UK pricing to be seen for the Google Nexus One still, if you pop your email address on the list over on Vodafone’s site now, you’ll ge a heads up on when it becomes available to pre-order.

Currently you can order the Google Nexus One to be shippped SIM free to the UK, but you’ll be looking at a hefty sum up front rather than a subsidised cost spread over a contract.

Of course, a lot has happened between the Google Nexus One’s launch in January and now, and the very same network is getting the souped up version of the same phone, the HTC Desire, complete with an optical trackpad and HTC’s Sense social networking software. Oh, and a little gem called the HTC Legend. Choices, choices eh?
