The LG LX9900 3D TV has been dated and badged up for a UK release, and you won’t have long to wait for this one: read on and see when it hits, plus plenty of official photo goodness!
The LD920 passive LG 3D TV may not be shipping until August, but if you’ve got enough wonga going spare, you’ll be able to buy the LG LX9900 3D TV from May. The LED backlit flatscreen comes in 47 and 55 inch sizes, and can pump out 1080p images. It’s also super thin, at just 3.16cm in depth.
The LG LX9900 3D TV display refreshes at an astonishingly fast 400Hz, so you won’t see a bit of stutter, and it has Freeview HD and Wi-Fi for a bit of home server media streaming.
The LG LX9900 3D TV will also support 3D Blu-ray players thorugh HDMI 1.4, which is just as well, since alongside the LG LX9900 3D TV, LG has launched a 3D Blu-ray player, the LG BX580, which too packs Wi-Fi, and the option to plug in an external hard drive so you can bring your own videos.
As you might have guessed, the LG LX9900 3D TV and BX580 don’t come cheap. LG says the guide prices for retailer to sell them are between £2,500-3,000 for the 47-incher, £3,600-4,000 for the 55-inch flvaour, and between £260 and 350 for the Blu-ray player. We’ll stick with our PS3 for 3D Blu-ray for now, but you can bet we’ll be chasing all the models down for a test run soon.
