The LG 3D TV, the 47-inch LD920, that was unceremoniously dumped from the company’s consumer line up, has been re-instated and pegged for a release after all. Read on and find out just when.
We told you last week how the flagship LD920 LG 3D TV had been designated as a commercial only model, and while it won’t be shipping with the rest of LG’s first 3D models, we can reveal that the set is set to make a comeback.
LG 3D TV: mainstream models promised for 2010
The LD920 LG 3D TV, which uses passive 3D technology, will go on sale to the public in August for around £2,500, LG has confirmed to us. The delay is because the current version of the LD920 LG 3D TV being used to screen Sky matches in the third dimension in British pubs, doesn’t allow for 3D Blu-ray players to be connected.
LG plans to upgrade the HDMI ports on the LD920 LG 3D TV to version 1.4 for the August release, so if you pick up one of the new 3D Bl-ray spinners, or own a PS3, you’ll be able to get some 3D content on it even if you don’t have Sky.
