We’ve heard little about the Toshiba TG03 smartphone since the first leaks sprung up almost a year ago. Now though, it’s back on the rumour mill, and it could be running Windows Phone 7 Series.

Since the first Toshiba TG03 leak, we’ve seen the TG02 follow up to the first Snapdragon smartphone from the Japanese giant, along with the QWERTY keybaord spinoff K01. But now MSMobiles claims the Toshiba TG03 is coming in November and run Windows Phone 7 Series, Microsoft’s great white hope to replace Windows Mobile 6.5.

Windows Phone 7 Series: hands on video!

The site says the Toshiba TG03 will pack a 4.1-inch screen and 1GHz processor just like its predecessors, but steps things up with a capacitive touchscreen for finger friendly typing, and a five megapixel camera. We can’t be sure of the site’s accuracy, but the TG02 leak turned out to be bang on the money, so it looks like someone on the inside of Toshiba’s mobile division could be bean spilling.

Unfortunately, we have no new images of what the Toshiba TG03 may look like, but Toshiba appears to have resolved a lot of the issues we had with the TG01 in the TG02 we played with last month. If Microsoft delivers with Windows Phone 7 Series, we could have a worthy upgrade for the HTC HD2 come the end of the year.
