Panasonic G10 camera coming this Sunday?

The Panasonic G10 and G2 Micro Four Thirds cameras have yet to be made official by the Japanese gadget giant, but pictures and specs have just leaked out in full, ahead of a Panasonic press conference scheduled for this Sunday. Coincidence? Check out the photos and details right here.

If the leaks are accurate, the Panasonic G10 and G2 are replacements for the bulkier Panasonic Lumix G1 and GH1, rather than the more petite Micro Four Thirds Panaonic Lumix GF1, and with the G1 now 18 months old, it’s certainly time.

The Panasonic G10 packs a 12.1 megapixel sensor, live view finder and LCD screen view for prepping your shots, and 720p HD video recording at a smooth 30 frames per second, with ISO sensitivity of 100-6400. The G2 is believed to be similarly specced to the Panasonic G10, but drops the view finder for a 3-inch swiveling screen, as seen in the shots here.

Photo Rumors supposedly nabbed the details of the Panasonic G10 and G2 after Pan briefly put them online on its own site, so we’d expect a launch imminently – almost certainly at the Focus On Imaging event in Birmingham where it’s hosting a press event on Sunday. We’ll be hitting the show hard, so rest assured that if the Panasonic G10 does emerge there, a hands-on won’t be far behind.
