The Ovi Store, Nokia’s app and entertainment store, could be getting full length movie downloads, letting you check out Hollywood flicks on your phone without the need for third party apps. How do we know? Nokia told us it’s considering an Ovi Store for movies, and is even in the first stages of testing it out right now.

We spoke to Nokia global communications manager Kasey Farrar today about the launch of Skype on the Ovi Store, and asked him upfront when we’d see proper movies on the Ovi Store. Currently a browse through the Ovi Store audio and video section shows the best selling clips include “Sexy and Sweet Babe” and “Lovely Sara Underwood”, but Nokia could soon be offering up full length features rather than mere bite size chunks of titillation.

“We do have a couple of short form video clips available on store right now and we’re investigating longer form,” Farrar told us. “I can’t confirm anything right now. I can tell you that we are investigating it. We have done a couple of pilots in some countries with some success, and you know we have great relationships with all the major studios.”

That sure beats a no comment, right? Nokia is testing out full length movies delivered via the Ovi Store right now, and has the potential connections lined up with movie studios to make a full movie store reality if all goes well.

Don’t get too excited about seeing Ovi Store movies from Nokia just anywhere though: Farrar took the time to stress that “longer form videos put a tremendous amount of stress on the network”, so we wouldn’t expect to be streaming movies over a 3G connection anytime soon. But we’ll take Ovi Store movies over Wi-Fi any day. We’ll be sure to let you know when that day dawns.
